FIU Detectives Seize Loaded Large Capacity Firearm
Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday February 23rd members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Lt. Brian Beliveau seized a loaded large capacity firearm and arrested 19 year old Anthony Gonzalez on the 400 block of Bay Street.
On Wednesday afternoon Detectives received information that Gonzalez was in possession of a firearm. Detectives located a car Gonzalez was traveling in and conducted a traffic stop on the 400 block of Bay Street as it was leaving Oak Grove Cemetery. The four occupants of the car were detained pending an investigation. Detectives located a loaded large capacity firearm in a fanny pack on the front passenger floor board where Gonzalez had been sitting. Detectives placed Gonzalez under arrest and the other occupants were released.

- Carrying a Firearm without a License
