Heroin, Cocaine and Ammunition Seized from Euclid Avenue Home

Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday March 2nd at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Captain Brian Keenan, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, Springfield Police Officers and members of the Springfield Police Emergency Services Unit (ESU) executed a search warrant on Euclid Avenue and seized more than 200 bags of heroin, approximately 50 bags of powder and crack-cocaine, ammunition and cash.

After an investigation Detectives in the Firearms Investigation Unit applied for an were granted a search warrant for a home on the 100 block of Euclid Avenue.  At approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit made entry and detained Jose Burgos-Pinto and Maria Collazo.

Detectives then performed the search of the home and recovered approximately 237 bags of heroin, 30 bags of powder cocaine, 19 bags of crack-cocaine, five boxes of ammunition and more than $2800 in cash.  Burgos-Pinto and Collazo were placed under arrest.

36 year old Jose Burgos-Pinto of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug

48 year old Maria Collazo of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Arrest Warrant
    – Failure to Provide a DNA Sample
  • Default Warrant
    – Delivering Drugs to a Prisoner
