High Visibility Enforcement Leads to 79 Citations Wednesday

Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday December 15th members of the Springfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit along with assisting officers in coordination with the Massachusetts State Police conducted high visibility traffic enforcement on the Page Boulevard corridor.  This combined effort resulted in 79 citations, including five criminal complaints being issued.  The majority of the tickets were for speeding and violating the hands-free cell phone law.

This was the fifth high visibility enforcement effort in the past five weeks.  More than 430 citations have been issued.  The previous high visibility enforcement efforts took place on State Street, Parker Street, Sumner Avenue and Boston Road.
