Loaded Firearm Seized after Arrest for Outstanding Warrants

Springfield, Mass. — On Tuesday November 23rd at approximately 8:45 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit, Springfield Police Officers, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and United States Marshals Task Force arrested Efrain Gonzalez at the corner of Hancock Street and Quincy Street.

Officers were aware that Gonzalez had outstanding warrants out of Chicopee and received information that he may be in possession of a firearm.  Gonzalez was spotted at the corner of Hancock and Quincy Streets Tuesday morning and officers placed him into custody for the outstanding warrants.  Gonzalez informed officers he had a firearm in his jacket pocket.  The loaded firearm was removed and seized.

21 year old Efrain Gonzalez Jr. of Springfield is charged with:

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Arrest Warrant – Chicopee District Court
  • Arrest Warrant – Chicopee District Court
  • Arrest Warrant – Chicopee District Court
