“Shop with a Cop’ Brings Officers, Students Together

Springfield, Mass. — Members of the Springfield Police Department’s C3 Units along with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department went Christmas shopping with approximately 30 Springfield elementary school students on Wednesday at Walmart on Boston Road.Officers with the Springfield Police Department joined with Springfield Together Inc., Strong Young Minds, City Connect, the Law Offices of Dunn and Phillips, the Springfield Public Schools, the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and Walmart for a special ‘Shop with a Cop’ event.

Nearly 30 students and their families took part with our Springfield Police Officers where they picked out Christmas presents for themselves and their families.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood and I cannot thank all of our local partners enough for their continued outreach and heartfelt initiatives to bring joy and cheer to our children and their families during this holiday season. These types of youth development events continue to enhance building even stronger police/community relationships.
