SPD Congratulates Officer Jaime Collins on his Retirement

Springfield, Mass. — The Springfield Police Department congratulates Officer Jaime Collins on his retirement after 35 years of service to the city of Springfield.  Officer Collins most recently was assigned to the Ordinance Unit after a long career in the Squad beginning in 1991.  Officer Collins began working for the Springfield Police Department as a Cadet in 1987.

For the past century his family has been part of the Springfield Police Family.  His Great-Grandfather James was a Captain who began his career in the 1920’s.  His Grandfather James and father George Sr. were longtime police officers.  George Sr. retired as a Sergeant after 42 years of service.  His brother George Jr. was also a Springfield Police Officer who retired due to an injury.
