SPD Firearms Investigation Unit Detectives Seize Loaded Firearm Saturday
Springfield, Mass. — On Saturday March 19 at approximately 6:30 p.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit under the direction of Lt. Brian Beliveau seized a loaded firearm and arrested 22 year old Dregory Woodard on the 300 block of Belmont Avenue.
Detectives received information that Woodard was in possession of a firearm and were conducting surveillance in Chicopee when they observed Woodard enter a car with what was believed to a firearm in his sweatshirt pocket. Woodard drove to Springfield and stopped on Belmont Avenue. Detectives activated their emergency equipment and recovered a loaded firearm in Woodard’s sweatshirt pocket. Woodard was placed under arrest.
22 year old Dregory Woodard of Chicopee is charged with:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
