On Saturday August 6th at approximately 5:00 p.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit under the direction of Sgt. Christopher Hitas seized a loaded large capacity firearm and made two arrests.

As a Detective went to detain the driver, later identified as Jomar Esteras, Esteras dove back into the car and slammed the door on the Detectives arm. Detectives were then able to remove all three occupants of the car. A loaded large capacity firearm was located in the car and Mr. Ramos was placed under arrest. Mr. Esteras was arrested as well. The third occupant was released.
