SPD FIU Detectives Seize High-Capacity Ghost Gun Thursday Morning

Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday February 2nd at approximately 1:30 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) executed a search warrant at a home on the 0-100 block of Grove Street seizing a high-capacity Ghost Gun and arrested two suspects: Edgar Centeno and Felix Garcia.

On Wednesday evening FIU Detectives were conducting an illegal firearms investigation with Cento and Garcia as suspects.  Detectives were conducting surveillance on Grove Street when they observed Garcia, Centeno and an adult female enter a vehicle and begin to drive away.  At this point Detectives conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and detained the suspects pending the execution of a search warrant.

Detectives then executed the search warrant and located a “Ghost Gun” loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition inside the home.  Detectives placed Garcia and Centeno under arrest and released the adult female who was in the car.

20-year-old Edgar Centeno of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device

23-year-old Felix Garcia of Springfield is charged with:

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
  • Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device
