SPD FIU Detectives Seize Loaded Large Capacity Firearm Thursday Afternoon
Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday April 14th at approximately 1:50 p.m. members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) seized a loaded large capacity firearm and arrested 18 year old Huti Ali on Wilbraham Avenue.
FIU Detectives have been conducting a month long illegal firearms investigation with Ali as a suspect. On Thursday Detectives received information that Ali was in possession of a firearm. Detectives located Ali on Wilbraham Avenue and recovered a firearm loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition in his sweatpants pocket. Detectives placed Ali under arrest.
18 year old Huti Ali of Indian Orchard is charged with:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Large Capacity Firearm without a License
