SPD Investigation Leads to Arrest of Shooting Suspect

Springfield, Mass — On Tuesday November 29th at approximately 6:50 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Warrant Apprehension Unit, Springfield Police Officers, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and United States Marshals Task Force arrested 37-year-old Michael Lebron inside his apartment on the 0-100 block of Spring Street in connection to a shooting Saturday morning.

On Saturday November 26th at approximately 2:20 a.m. officers responded to the 300 block of Hancock Street for a ShotSpotter Activation.  During the course of the investigation officers located an adult male gunshot victim and two vehicles damaged by gunfire.  The gunshot victim was transported to Baystate for treatment on a non-life threatening wound.

On Sunday Springfield Police Detectives requested and were granted a warrant for the arrest of Lebron in connection to the shooting.  On Tuesday the warrant was executed and Lebron was placed under arrest.

37-year-old Michael Lebron of Springfield is charged with:

  • Arrest Warrant
    – Carrying a Firearm without a License
    – Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
    – Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
    – Assault & Battery with a Firearm
    – Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle
    – Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle
