SPD Remembers Officers John Sullivan & Thomas Murphy
Springfield, Mass. — Today we remember two fallen Springfield Police Officers who were killed in the line of duty.
John P. Sullivan and Thomas F. Murphy were killed on February 2nd, 1940 when they were struck by a train.
Officer Sullivan was a police officer for 35 years, he was 66 years old.
Officer Murphy was a police officer for 25 years, he was 55 years old.
