SPD SVU Investigation Leads to Arrest of Holyoke Man

Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday September 21st at approximately 7:00 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit under the direction of Captain Brian Keenan, Holyoke Police Department and Hampden County Sheriff’s Department arrested 36-year-old Angel Cuba inside a Jackson Street apartment in Holyoke on an arrest warrant for sexual assault charges.

For the past several weeks Detectives assigned to the Springfield Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) under the direction of Captain Trent Duda have been investigating allegations of Cuba sexually assaulting a victim numerous times for the past several years.   Last week SVU Detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for his arrest.  Cuba was located on Wednesday in Holyoke and placed under arrest.  Cuba was courtesy booked in Holyoke before being processed at Springfield Police Headquarters.  He is expected to be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Wednesday.

36-year-old Angel Cuba of Holyoke is charged with:

    – Indecent Exposure
    – Witness Intimidation
