Springfield Police Department Launches New Website
Springfield, Mass. — Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood is pleased to announce the launch of a new department website, giving community members an updated and modern space to access information and resources, news, events and more.
The department’s new website, springfieldmapolice.com, features a modern look and accessible design, with multiple user-friendly and resource-oriented features including information about the department and its history, community policing and sector beat management team meetings, department and community-based resources, and more. Along with these features, there are areas where residents can submit tips, request records and find various forms, and pages dedicated to Springfield’s fallen officers.
The site also includes a video gallery page with videos about department activities, officers’ accomplishments and safety tips.
Residents are encouraged to visit the website’s news blog to stay up to date with the latest police department news and updates. Those who subscribe via email to the news blog will receive notifications for new posts.
“We are pleased to be launching this new website as a way to enhance our efforts in transparency and provide our community with a user-friendly tool to access department resources and contact information,” Commissioner Clapprood said. “Residents can also visit the website to access the schedules for sector beat management meetings and community events, as well as follow news and department happenings.”
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “I want to commend Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood and her team on the launch of the Springfield Police Departments new and improved website. This new modern and aesthetically pleasing website will greatly enhance our public safety outreach efforts, police-community relations and increase transparency for our residents and business community.
