Springfield Police Officers Recover Loaded, Stolen Firearm 

Springfield, Mass. — On Friday August 5th at approximately 12:05 a.m. Springfield Police Officers seized a loaded firearm and arrested 32-year-old Zachary Lyons on the 400 block of East Columbus Avenue.

Officers responded to Longhill Street and East Columbus Avenue for a report of an assault.  An investigation revealed that Lyons allegedly kicked in an apartment door on Longhill Street, assaulted a victim and threw an object at a victim.

Officers also received information that Lyons had a firearm and recovered it inside his car on East Columbus Avenue.  The firearm was loaded and reported stolen out of Vermont.  Lyons was placed under arrest.

32-year-old Zachary Lyons of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without a License
  • Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1200
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Armed Burglary
  • Vandalize Property
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
