Springfield Police Officers Seize a Large Capacity “Ghost Gun” after responding to a Gun Call

Springfield, Mass. — On Monday September 12th at approximately 3:25 p.m. Springfield Police Officers seized high capacity “Ghost Gun” and arrested two suspects after responding to a gun call near the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Woodside Terrace.

Officers responded to the area and observed a disturbance involving numerous individuals.  Officers observed one individual, later identified as Justin Llano, with a firearm shaped object inside his sweatshirt pocket.  Llano then began running into a Belmont Avenue alley.  Officers observed Llano toss the firearm over a fence as officers caught up to him and took him into custody.  Officers located the firearm in the backyard of a home on Forest Park Avenue.

The firearm was a “Ghost Gun” loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition.  A 17-year-old juvenile male was also arrested in connection with this incident.

22-year-old Justin Llano of Springfield is charged with:

  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
  • Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Firearm
  • Possession of a High Capacity Magazine/Feeding Device
