Springfield Police Officers Seize Firearm, Trafficking Weight of Drugs and Arrest Repeat Violent Offender
Springfield, Mass. — On Sunday June 12th at approximately 2:45 p.m. recovered a firearm, trafficking weight of cocaine and crack-cocaine and arrested 31-year-old Devon Williams inside an apartment on the 100 block of Bay Street.
Around 2:00 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance at the apartment where one individual, later identified as Williams, was alleged to have a gun. When officers arrived they located a female victim and in another room located Williams. Officers then observed a firearm at his feet which they recovered and placed Williams under arrest. Williams was alleged to have punched the victim in her stomach and threatened her with a gun.
Officers also recovered in Williams’ room approximately 26 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of crack-cocaine, additional ammunition and more than $1500 in cash.
Williams have previous convictions of violent crimes and was found not guilty by way of mental illness for attempted murder charges and other violent crimes after a spree of assaults on complete strangers in September 2018.
31-year-old Devon Williams of Springfield is charged with:

- Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
- Trafficking Cocaine 18-36 Grams (Powder Cocaine)
- Trafficking Cocaine 18-36 Grams (Crack-Cocaine)
