Springfield Police Officers Seize Loaded Firearm after Responding to a Report of Car-Breaks

Springfield, Mass. —  Springfield Police Officers seized a loaded firearm and arrested three car-break suspects in a parking lot on the 3400 block of Main Street Saturday morning around 1:00 a.m.

On Saturday August 28th at approximately 12:30 a.m. Springfield Police Officers responded to Demond Avenue for a gun call with three suspects attempting to break into cars.  Officers located the suspects on the 3400 block of Main Street.  Officers recovered a loaded firearm from Joesay Martinez.  Martinez, Juan Roque and a 15-year-old juvenile boy all had latex gloves and the juvenile also had a ski mask.

The firearm was reported stolen out of Florida.  The charges for the juvenile will not be released due to his age.

18-year-old Joesay Martinez of Springfield is charged with:

  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Receiving Stolen Property Less than $1200
  • Breaking and Entering – Vehicle Nighttime for a Felony
  • Attempt to Commit a Crime

18-year-old Juan Roque of Springfield is charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering – Vehicle Nighttime for a Felony
  • Attempt to Commit a Crime
