The Gray House Recognizes Springfield Police Officers for Response after Break-In

Springfield, Mass. — On Friday June 17th, Executive Director of the Gray House, Kristen McClintock, agency staff and board members presented certificates of appreciation to Springfield Police Officers who responded to a break-in at the Gray House and were able to apprehend the suspect responsible.  The suspect attempted to steal infant formula, food, diapers, and other critical agency supplies that are provided to the community at no cost.  The Gray House also presented K9 Dex with a bone for his good work.

On Wednesday May 25th at 2:20 a.m. officers responded to the The Gray House on Sheldon Street for a report of a breaking and entering in progress.   A suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Davian Perez, was on the property stealing numerous items.   Springfield Police Officers quickly arrived and K9 Officer David Olszak and his K9 partner Dex located Perez hding under a nearby porch and many of the items were recovered.  Perez was arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering into a Building – Nighttime for a Felony and Larceny from a Building.
