Trafficking Weight of Cocaine, Crack-Cocaine Recovered Friday Night

Springfield, Mass. — On Friday November 12th, members of the Emergency Services Unit under the direction of Sgt. Patrick Denault and Detectives in the Firearms Investigation Unit under the direction of Sgt. Christopher Hitas executed a search warrant inside an apartment on the 0-100 block of Putnam Circle.

Firearms Investigation Unit Detectives have been investigating a suspect, Hector Collazo, based on information they received.  Detectives requested and were granted a search warrant for his address.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. Friday members of the Emergency Services Unit knocked and announced their presence.  Collazo then created a barricade at his door and ran into the basement.  Members of the Emergency Services Unit then were able to get into a rear door and secured Collazo.

During a search of the home, Detectives recovered approximately 69.4 grams of cocaine, approximately 19.6 grams of crack-cocaine, 29 oxycodone pills, 190 bags of heroin, ammunition and $5482 in cash.

38 year old Hector Collazo of Springfield is charged with:

  • Trafficking Cocaine (36-100 grams)
  • Trafficking Cocaine (18-36 grams)
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
