Homicide Investigation: Victim from Terrence Street Shooting Succumbs to their Injuries

Springfield, Mass. — On Sunday July 3rd at approximately 3:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to a gun call near the intersection of Terrence and State Streets and then a nearly simultaneous ShotSpotter Activation went off.  Officers were informed a group of people were fighting.

As officers arrived they observed damage to several vehicles. Some of the damage was caused by gunfire, additional damage was consistent with a baseball bat or similar blunt object.

Officers were then informed a gunshot victim was dropped off at Mercy.  The adult female gunshot victim was initially treated at Mercy and then transported to Baystate with serious injuries.

On Friday night July 8th the victim succumbed to her injuries. The Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction of Cpt. Trent Duda is investigating with the assistance of the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.
