They were joined Thursday by Police Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood, Deputy Chief Rupert Daniel and Deputy Chief Lawrence Akers and Gloria Wilson in the Superintendent’s Boardroom at Springfield Police Headquarters.

Ms. Wilson, whose son Khambrel passed away in November, contacted the Mayor’s office due to these officers’ professionalism at her son’s funeral. She wanted to make sure they were acknowledged for the job they did. Ms. Wilson also had plaques made for each officer for the proud manner in which they represented the department.
