Annual Charitable Golf Tournament in Memory of Officer Kevin Ambrose
Springfield, Mass. — On Friday September 27th, 364 Gives, the charitable arm of the Springfield Police Patrolman’s Union IBPO Local 364, hosted its 13th annual golf tournament in honor and memory of Officer Kevin Ambrose at Franconia Golf Course.
In 2023, Franconia Golf Course dedicated its 7th hole in memory of Officer Kevin Ambrose. Ambrose, who was killed in the line of duty on June 4, 2012 wore and will forever be Badge #7. On that day, Springfield lost one of its finest. He was a wonderful public servant, husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and coach. He is still missed by so many.
This golf tournament raises money for 364 Gives in turn they have donated more than $200,000 to well deserving organizations that focus on making positive impacts on the lives of children, and/or vital public safety initiatives. This year’s recipient will be the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). Past recipients have been the Springfield Boys and Girls Club, Dunbar YMCA/Mason Square Boxing Program, CHD’s Disability Resources, the YWCA, Square One, Cops for Kids with Cancer, Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center, The Springfield Police Relief Association, Springfield Toys for Tots, Christina’s House, Amateur Baseball Club of Springfield, Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.), Old Hill Youth Sports & Mentoring Program, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Griffin’s Friends, Open Pantry of Springfield, Gray House, Project 13, Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the Thomas J. O’Connor Adoption Center.
