SPD Detective Bureau Investigation Leads to Arrest of Two Additional Shooting Suspects from June Incident on Dunmoreland Street
Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday August 15th at approximately 6:15 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Captain Brian Keenan, Springfield Police Detective Bureau, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting on June 29th.
At approximately 5:00 p.m. Saturday June 29th, officers responded to the 0-100 block of Dunmoreland St. for multiple ShotSpotter activations. Officers located two gunshot victims on scene and a third who was privately transported to Mercy. All had non-life-threatening injuries. Five vehicles and two homes were also struck by gunfire.
The SPD Detective Bureau under the direction of Captain Trent Duda began investigating. One of the shooting suspects was also one of the gunshot victims and he was placed under arrest at Baystate. On Tuesday July 16th at approximately 2:50 p.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU), Massachusetts State Police VFAS and Hampden County Sheriff’s Department arrested 29-year-old David Beadle on the 200 block of Hancock Street. Beadle is also a shooting suspect from that incident.
Detectives requested and were granted two additional arrest warrants for suspects involved in the shooting.
On Thursday morning, Detectives arrested two more shooting suspects at different apartments on the 0-100 block of Westford Circle. 34-year-old Kamou Anderson was placed under arrest as was 55-year-old Michael Miller. Detectives recovered two high-capacity firearm magazines inside Miller’s home.
34-year-old Kamou Anderson of Springfield is charged with:
- Arrest Warrant
– Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
– Assault & Battery with a Firearm
– Attempted Assault & Battery with a Firearm (Two Counts)
– Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle (Five Counts)
– Vandalize Property (Two Counts)
55-year-old Michael Miller of Springfield is charged with:
- Arrest Warrant
– Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
– Assault & Battery with a Firearm
– Attempted Assault & Battery with a Firearm (Two Counts)
– Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle (Five Counts)
– Vandalize Property (Two Counts) - Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine (Two Counts)
