SPD FIU Detectives Seize Semi-Automatic Firearm, Trafficking Weight of Fentanyl

Springfield, Mass. — On Tuesday December 13th at approximately 9:20 p.m. members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Lt. Christopher Collins seized a semi-automatic firearm, trafficking weight of fentanyl and arrested 18-year-old Michael Llanos on the 500 block of Beacon Circle.

For the past several weeks FIU Detectives have been conducting an illegal firearms investigation with Llanos as the suspect.  On Tuesday night Detectives received information that Llanos was currently in possession of firearm.  Detectives responded to his home, detained Llanos and recovered the firearm.  During the search of his room Detectives also recovered 580 bags or approximately 11.2 grams of suspected fentanyl in addition to 47 rounds of ammunition.

18-year-old Michael Llanos of Springfield is charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm without a FID Card
  • Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
  • Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
  • Improper Storage of a Firearm
  • Fentanyl Trafficking More than 10 Grams
