SPD Officers Arrest 15 and 14-year-olds for Racing at approximately 90 MPH in Stolen Cars
Springfield, Mass. — At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Thursday June 15 Springfield Police Officers arrested two juveniles on the 200 block of Berkshire Avenue on various charges.
Around 3:45 a.m. officers observed four Hyundais travelling at an estimated 90+ MPH on Boston Road crossing over the double yellow lines multiple times and putting any and all citizens in danger. The 3rd and 4th Hyundai were driving with their headlights off making the situation even more dangerous.
As an officer was relaying this information one of the cars crash on Bay Street. The passenger side window had been smashed and the ignition was pulled out as this car had been stolen.
Springfield Police Officers located two juveniles, 14 and 15-years-old on the 200 block of Berkshire Avenue and placed them under arrest.
The Springfield Police Department has arrested the 15-year-old several times on similar charges. Due to state law, their names, booking photos and charges will not be released.
