SPD Remembers K9 Fix
Springfield, Mass. — On Friday April 12th retired Springfield Police K9 Fix passed away peacefully, he was 12 years old.
K9 Fix joined the Springfield Police K9 Unit in October of 2012. He was certified as a Patrol Dog under the North American Police Work Dog Association. During his service with the Springfield Police Department K9 Unit, K9 Fix would assist in the tracking of suspects and detection of evidence as well as the clearing of any buildings or areas where potentially dangerous subjects could be hiding. K9 Fix always excelled at all aspects of his patrol duties.
Upon his retirement from the Springfield Police Department, K9 Fix went on to live out his retirement years with K9 Officer Scott Stelzer and his family. K9 Fix was a very special dog and will be greatly missed by his family.
