Springfield Police Arrest Three Juveniles in Connection to Car-Breaks

Springfield, Mass. — Springfield Police Officers arrested three juveniles in connection to a series of car-breaks Sunday morning.

On Sunday May 21st at approximately 3:00 a.m. Springfield Police Officers arrested a 17-year-old male near the intersection of Jardine and Prospect Streets.

Around 2:10 a.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Prospect Street for a report of four suspects breaking into vehicles.  Officers arrived and three of the four suspects ran off.  Officers stopped the 17-year-old who had numerous tools used to break into and/or steal cars, cash, change, a wallet and 12 credit cards belonging to different people.  Officers placed the juvenile under arrest.

Around 3:30 a.m. officers responded to the 300 block of Chestnut Street for a report of car-breaks.  Officers observed two suspects matching the description of the car-breakers.  Both had pieces of glass on their clothing.  The initial vehicle that was broken into had a shattered passenger window.  The 15-year-old and 14-year-old juvenile males were placed under arrest.

Due to their ages, the juvenile’s names and charges will not be released.
