Springfield Police Donate Water to “The Gray House”
Springfield, Mass. — Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers and 364 Gives, the charitable arm of the IBPO Local 364 Patrolman’s Union represented by its President, Springfield Police Officer Martin Curley, donated more than a dozen cases of water to “The Gray House” on Sheldon Street on a hot Tuesday morning. This will help support and hydrate their volunteers and clients throughout the summer. Members of the Springfield Police Metro Unit helped deliver and unload the water.
The donation was made possible by using a portion of the funds raised during the Springfield Police Department’s “No Shave November”, where officers can donate money to grow facial hair during the month.
After the donation, Superintendent Akers spent some time chatting with children in “The Gray House” Kids’ club summer program.
