Springfield Police Officers Honored at Celtics Game
Boston, Mass. — Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to publicly recognize officers Josue Cruz, Francisco Luna and Luis Delgado for being honored as “Heroes Among Us” by the Boston Celtics on Thursday December 12th at a game against the Detroit Pistons.
The Heroes Among US program, established by the Celtics in 1997, recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to their communities. Officers Cruz, Luna and Delgado were celebrated for their heroic actions in saving the life of a 3-month-old baby in medical distress. Their teamwork and quick response ensured the infant made a full recovery.
