Springfield Police Officers Seize Loaded Firearm after Traffic Stop
Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday September 20th at approximately 5:10 p.m. Springfield Police Officers seized a loaded firearm and arrested 28-year-old Rodney McCants on the 200 block of Hancock.
A few minutes earlier Officers observed an uninsured and unregistered vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Hancock Street. As the vehicle needed to be towed officers searched the car and located a loaded firearm, marijuana and suboxone. McCants was placed under arrest.
28-year-old Rodney McCants of Springfield is charged with:
- Carrying a Firearm without a License
- Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
- Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Class B Drug
- Possession of a Class D Drug
