Springfield Police Seize Another Illegal Dirt Bike

Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday May 22nd, the Springfield Police Department has deployed its Anti-Off-Highway-Vehicle (OHV)/Dirt Bike public safety detail resulting in the seizure of an illegal dirt bike and an arrest.

The Springfield Police Department regularly receives complaints of illegal dirt bike or OHV riding in the streets of Springfield in which the riders put the lives of others and themselves at risk.

At approximately 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Springfield Police Officers observed a rider on an illegal dirt bike on Wilbraham Road.  Officers working in an undercover capacity surveilled the rider and when it was safe to do so conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Wilbraham Road.    The rider, later identified as Yencer Payano, did not have a license and he was placed under arrest.  The dirt bike was towed.

19-year-old Yencer Payano of Springfield is charged with:

  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Uninsured Motor Vehicle
  • Unregistered Snow/Recreational Vehicle
  • Snow/Recreational Vehicle – Helmet Violation
  • Snow/Recreational Vehicle – Public Way Violation
