Superintendent Akers Recognizes Officer Joshua Lopez for Serving our Community
Springfield, Mass. — Springfield Police Superintendent Lawrence E. Akers would like to publicly recognize Officer Joshua Lopez for serving the public in a manner that shines a positive light on our department.
Superintendent Akers received an email from the Dean of Students at Kiley Prep Middle School thanking Officer Lopez for inspiring his students. Officer Lopez was a guest speaker at a long-running after-school program called FitZone Athletic Performance. The program was created to promote social and emotional health, improve academic performance, and to support health and wellness as well as Junior Achievement.
In part the email from the Dean of Students reads, “On February 3, Springfield Patrol Officer Joshua Lopez spoke to our students about his responsibilities as a Patrol Officer and how his son inspired him to take the civil service exam. Officer Lopez spoke to our students about not giving up on your dreams, to focus on your future, find your passion, exercise will help your self-confidence, be determined, disciplined and consistency will help you meet your goals. Officer Lopez thank you for your service and thank you for inspiring our students!”
