Three Kilograms of Cocaine Seized after Joint Investigation
Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday June 6th at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU), Homeland Security Investigations, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit West seized more than three kilograms of cocaine and arrested 38-year-old Carlos Sanchez on Mobile Home Way.
Homeland Security Investigations contacted the Springfield Police about a package that was intercepted carrying more approximately three Kilos of cocaine. Detectives gained custody of the package and Springfield Police K9 Flexx confirmed the existence of narcotics.
A FIU Detective in an undercover capacity delivered the package to Sanchez on Mobile Home Way. Once Sanchez signed for the package assisting Detectives arrived and placed him under arrest. Officers also recovered one bag of heroin from Sanchez.
38-year-old Carlos Sanchez of Springfield is charged with:
- Trafficking in Cocaine, 200 Grams or More
- Possession of a Class A Drug
