Springfield Police Officers Arrest Shooting Suspect Wednesday Morning

Springfield, Mass. — At approximately 12:55 a.m. Wednesday August 24th Springfield Police Officers arrested shooting suspect 43-year-old Kelvin Correa on the 0-100 block of School Street.

On Monday August 22nd around 12:40 a.m. officers responded to Temple Street for a gun call.  In this incident Correa is alleged to have shot at a victim striking a car.  Officers located evidence of a shooting, but were unable to locate Correa.

On Wednesday morning Springfield Police Officers saw Correa on the 0-100 block of School Street and he was placed under arrest.

43-year-old Kelvin Correa of Springfield is charged with:

  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
  • Carrying a Firearm without a License
  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
  • Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle
  • Larceny Under $1200
