Hockey for Heroes Foundation Supports Injured Wilbraham Officer

Springfield, Mass. — The Hockey for Heroes Foundation, comprised of Springfield Police Officers, showed their support for injured Wilbraham Police Officer Cameron Prosperi on Friday at the Wilbraham Police Station.

Officer Prosperi was responding to a domestic disturbance in Wilbraham on January 20th when he was shot by the assailant.  He was released from the hospital nearly a month later and is still recovering with additional medical procedures likely.

On Friday April 26th, the Hockey for Heroes Foundation and members of the Springfield Police Hockey team including retired Superintendent Cheryl Clapprood met with Prosperi at the Wilbraham Police Department.

The Hockey for Heroes Foundation donated $2000 towards Prosperi’s medical bills and gifted him a Hockey for Heroes Foundation shirt, hat and personalized jersey.  We wish Cam the best in his recovery and hope this small token of appreciation can help him along the way!

The Hockey for Heroes Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to support first responders who have been seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.
