SPD SVU Detectives Arrest Suspect on Rape Charges

Springfield, Mass. — On Monday April 1st at approximately 10:30 a.m., Springfield Police Special Victims Unit (SVU) Detectives arrested 27-year-old Alex Martinez at Springfield Police Headquarters on Pearl Street.

On March 31st, Detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for his arrest in connection with a sexual assault that is alleged to have occurred the day prior in the city.

To protect the victims’ rights, no further information can be released at this time.

27-year-old Alex Martinez of Springfield is charged with:
