Springfield Police Remind Residents to Lock their Windows and Doors

Springfield, Mass. — On Sunday March 17th around 11:40 a.m., Springfield Police Officers and Detectives arrested 22-year-old Jason Patterson in the area of William Sands Jr. Rd. in connection with a series of breaking and entering and sexual assault incidents.

Patterson is alleged to have entered stranger’s homes through unlocked windows.  Springfield Police arrested him Sunday morning after two reports of similar incidents.

After he was arraigned Monday, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office requested a dangerousness hearing for Patterson and on Thursday a judge deemed him to be dangerous.  He will be held for at least 120 days in jail.

The Springfield Police are urging our residents to ensure their windows and doors are locked especially as it begins to get warmer so that no uninvited guests can enter your home.

The Springfield Police cannot release Patterson’s booking photo at this time due to ongoing investigations.
