At approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday October 8th Members of the Springfield Police Department’s Firearms Investigation Unit were conducting an unrelated investigation in the cities North End neighborhood when Detectives observed a group of individuals in a parking lot on Clyde Street. One of the individuals, who is a juvenile male, made a verbal threat towards the undercover Detectives and implied that he had a loaded gun.
Assisting Detectives arrived and detained five individuals on scene while they investigated. Detectives recovered a loaded firearm from the waistband of one of the juveniles. Another loaded high capacity Ghost Gun was recovered from the car two of the juveniles were inside of. Additional ammunition and marijuana were recovered as well. After the investigation, three juvenile males were arrested and the other two individuals detained were released.
Due to the age of the suspects, their names and charges will not be released.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
