Springfield Police Officers Arrest Two Suspects for Breaking into Motor Vehicles Monday Morning

Springfield, Mass. — On Monday August 22nd at approximately 2:25 a.m. Springfield Police Officers arrested 19-year-old Gianzel Caraballo and 19-year-old Jeremiah James on charges related to several car-breaks and attempted car-breaks Monday morning.

Springfield Police Officers have been paying special attention to the Liberty Heights and Atwater neighborhoods due to recent car-breaks in the area.  On Monday morning officers received information that suspects were attempting to break into cars on Shefford Street.  Officers quickly arrived and detained two suspects; Caraballo and James.

The investigation revealed that three cars were broken into in the area and the suspects had attempted to break into three others.  Caraballo and James were placed under arrest.

19-year-old Gianzel Caraballo of Springfield is charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony (Attempted)
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony (Attempted)

19-year-old Jeremiah James of Springfield is charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony (Attempted)
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony (Attempted)
  • Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle at Nighttime for a Felony (Attempted)
