Suspect Arrested on Warrant for Firearms Charges out of Chicopee; Heroin, Cocaine Recovered

Springfield, Mass. — On Wednesday August 31st at approximately 6:45 a.m. members of the Springfield Police Warrant Apprehension Unit, Massachusetts State Police VFAS, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested 28-year-old Giovanni Burgos on the 0-100 block of Keith Street on three outstanding warrants including firearms charges and drug charges.

While arresting Burgos for the warrants Officers and Troopers recovered more than 200 bags of heroin, 11 grams of crack-cocaine and five grams of cocaine inside his fanny pack.

28-year-old Giovanni Burgos of Holyoke is charged with:

  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Arrest Warrant – Westfield
    – B&E Building Daytime for a Felony
    – Larceny over $250 form a Person over 60
  • Default Warrant – Westfield
    – Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
    – Possession of a Class B Drug
    – Refuse to Identify Self
  • Default Warrant – Chicopee
    – Carrying a Firearm without a License
    – Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony
    – Possession of Ammunition without a FID Card
    – Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
    – Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
    – Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
    – Possession of a Class E Drug
    – Refuse to Identify Self
