SPD FIU, C3 Units Arrest Home Invasion Suspect
Springfield, Mass. — On Saturday July 30th at approximately 10:30 p.m. members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) under the direction of Lt. Christopher Collins and members of the Springfield Police C-3 Forest Park Unit arrested 18-year-old Michael Saez at the intersection of Lebanon and Hancock Streets on Home Invasion charges.
Around 4:30 a.m. that morning officers responded to an apartment on the 100 block of Chestnut Street for a report of an armed robbery. A suspect known to the victim allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Later that evening, members of the Firearms Investigation Unit observed the suspect enter a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop along with the assistance of C-3 Forest Park officers on the 400 block of Hancock Street. Saez was placed under arrest.
