Springfield Police Officers Respond to Drug-Dealing Complaints in the Marion Street Area and Make Three Arrests

Springfield, Mass. — On Thursday July 14th at approximately 5:10 p.m. Springfield Police Officers under the direction of Sgt. Hector Morales made three arrests and seized various narcotics in response to citizen complaints about drug-dealing in the Marion Street area.  Officers conducted surveillance and a park and walk of the area.

During the park and walk Officers observed a suspect, later identified as Brent Lovely, handling packaged drugs.  Officers and Detectives seized approximately 200 bags or heroin and 98 bags of cocaine from Lovely and he was placed under arrest.

Officers then arrested another involved suspect, Mirayda Cruz, who was found in possession of 16 pills of Gabapentin, 19 pills of Clonazepam and a bag of cocaine.

Officers also arrested Jose Sanchez who was acting as a lookout during surveillance and was also charged with loitering and trespassing.

 29-year-old Brent Lovely of Athol is charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
  • Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
  • Loitering
  • Trespassing

41-year-old Jose Sanchez of Springfield is charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
  • Loitering
  • Trespassing

38-year-old Mirayda Cruz of Springfield is charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Violate Drug Law
  • Possession of a Class B Drug
  • Possession of a Class E Drug
  • Possession of a Class E Drug
  • Loitering
  • Trespassing
